Malaysia Report
Did you know Malaysia doesn't include Singapore. In fact, the entire reason I chose Malaysia was to study Singapore. Well, its been interesting. Beyond that, Malaysia shares similarities with Singapore, though not many. Because, Singapore was in fact once part of Malasyia. Malaysia is located east of India, south of China and north of Indonesia with Singapore. At the tip of its pennisula. Singapore was in fact the first country to gain independence against its own will. Isn't that interesting! Learn more in my report on Monday!!

Shinto and Buddhism are the most common religions in Japan. Shinto is a faith that encomposes the sirituality of nature, particularly Japan. For my 'Japan Prject: Shinto" I intend to make a Pamphlet targeted to tourists wanting a guided tour through Japan. This pamphlet will be modeled after other common pamphlets for guided tours.

The Impact.
More than 100 Years Later, the World I Live In Still Displays the Impact of the New Imperialism.
The New Imperialist era demanded large amounts of raw materials to fuel giant factories and to trade consumer goods. The impact of these interactions are still visible in modern society through a countries wealth and economic standing. In the current edition of 'Financial Times' China is said to have overtaken EU as Iran's top trade partner. China before the New Imperialist era was autonomous; whereas, it more often than not didn't hassle with other countries. Why did China begin to subject to other nations and to moderize through western ways? It is simple; China was forced. However, in the long run China benefited from the medical and technological advances. China is not the only country that has been directly impacted by New Imperialism. Other countries have flourished from New Imperialism and have crumbled from New Imperialism. With everything put aside, ultimately countries worldwide have been impacted by the medical advances, innovative technology, military tactics, and western ideas that New Imperialism ushered in.

Positive Effects of the New Imperialism
What I see as the Positive Effects of the New Imperialism.
The positive effects were the spread of western ideologies. Even though Europe did not intend to offer colonies democracy, nationalism, and liberty they preached it back home (ironic, huh). These ideas united nations, promoted equality, and edified independence. Some countries that have benifited today from western ideas are India, China, South America, and North America. If New Imperialism had never come into play America, a country founded on democracy, equality, and liberty, would not exist today.

Negative Effects of the New Imperialism
What I see as the Negative Effects of the New Imperialism.
The negative effects of the New Imperialism were the mistreatment of people. Upon arriving in Africa, Europeans saw Africans as primitive and barbarious. Europeans saw Africans as children that needed to be taken care of. However, the Europeans idea of care was to 'modernize' them. In other words, Europeans attempted to force christianity and european customs on the native Africans, even if they didn't want it. Furthermore, many africans were forced to for low pay with poor treatment under King Leopold of Belguim. The treatment of Africans as low, childish, and lesser was inhuman and enevitably lead to the inhumane treatment of these peoples.
